Welcome to the LPS 6th Grade Inter-school Interest Journal "Bookshelf"

Interest Journal Guidelines

1) For inspiration, read over what others have written.
2) Each time you prepare a post - include: Your Google name, Date, TITLE (centered)
3) Be creative! Use all kinds of CONTENT…continue a line from the previous writer, write poems, create comic strips, enter journal or diary entries, develop stories, recall memories, organize paragraphs and essays.
4) Be CRAFT-Y! Include the techniques (brush strokes) you have noticed in professional writing… similes, metaphors, alliteration, rhyme, repetition, strong verbs, and more.
5) Stay on the topic of the interest journal.
6) Use conventions to help your reader navigate your phrases, sentences, paragraphs, and ideas. 7) Be RESPECTFUL…do not write on other people’s entries. 8) REPLY to someone's writing if you feel so moved!
